goals & services

The PAT - Great Plains Program seeks to:

  •  REACH families that are eager to learn how to care for their children
  • LINK parents and children to early preventive medical attention
  • PROVIDE support for first time parents, an exciting but potentially stressful time
  • ASSIST families in developing appropriate expectations of their child's development and helps to nurture that development
  • HELP promote parent-child bonding and attachment
  • BUILD bridges between families and community support systems through education and referral


The PAT - Great Plains program does currently have a wait list, however, don't let that discourage you! Call Emma at 580-726-3383 to be added to the list! 

If you are expecting OR you have a child that is less than 6 years old, this program is for you.

As a participant, you will recieve the following FREE services.  

  • Personalized home visits
  • Prenatal care information
  • Daily infant, toddler, and preschool care information
  • Child health and safety information
  • Positive and effective discipline techniques
  • Child development information
  • Nutrition information

Plus exciting and fun ideas for playtime as well as learning enhancements for parents and their children. Your Parent Educator will provide you with books from our lending library at each home visit.


The PAT - Great Plains program  serves families in Kiowa, Greer, Jackson, Tillman, Beckham, and Washita Counties in Southwest Oklahoma. 

events & Activities

In addition to serving families, the staff in the PAT - Great Plains program also participates in yearly events such as:

  • Lil' Mr. & Miss Hometown Harvest Pageant
  • Lil' Mr. & Miss Celebration of Freedom Pageant
  • Back to School Bash
  • Community Baby Shower
  • Kiowa County Kid's Fun Fair
  • Bundles for Babies
  • Fill the Bus For A+

The PAT - Great Plains program also runs a diaper, wipe, and baby formula closet for parents with critical needs.  These items are gifted to families on an as needed, emergency basis.

how can you help?

  • Host a diaper and baby wipe drive through your work, church, or civic group
  • Encourage expecting and new moms to enroll in the parentPRO PAT - Great Plains program
  • Give a tax-deductible donation in honor of your children
  • Donate gently used toys, puzzles, and books
