Kody is the Executive Director of GPYFS. Kody began her work at the agency in 2005 as a Child Care Resources and Referral Specialist. She then moved to the Counseling Department as an Outreach Behavioral Specialist in 2006. In 2012, Kody was named Executive Director of GPYFS. She grew up in Hobart and earned a bachelor’s degree in human development and Family Sciences from Oklahoma State University and a Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Community Counseling from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Kody serves as the cluster representative for the SW Cluster for the Oklahoma Association of Youth Services. Kody had been a member of the Kiwanis Club of Hobart for over 10 years. Kody has a passion for serving youth and families in SW Oklahoma and looks forward to being a part of the legacy that this organization has created.

She was born and raised in a small town in Mississippi and later moved to Texas, where she received her applied arts degree in fashion marketing from the Art Institute of Dallas. Emmy has four grown children, twin daughters and two sons. She loves watching her children experience life and grow into adults. She hopes to start a charity in the name of her grandmother to donate inspirational pencils to all of the local schools.

Kim formerly worked for the State Department of Health for 15.5 years until a reduction in force terminated her position as parentPRO supervisor. Prior to being a parentPRO supervisor Kim served 13 years with the Immunization Division of the State Dept of Health. Kim’s hometown is Altus. She graduated from Navajo High School, received her Associates degree from Western Oklahoma State College, her Bachelor of Business Administration and Master of Science degree in Community Counseling from SWOSU. Kim also holds a license as an Assisted Living Administrator. Kim is very involved in the community where she currently serves as secretary of the Salvation Army Advisory Board, the president of Altus Animal Welfare Association, vice chair of Community Based Services, treasurer of Jackson County Community Health Action Team and a member of the Homeless Consortium as well as a member of the Western Oklahoma Opioid Consortium. Kim is married to Gerry Rumschlag, who works in the Emergency Department of Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Kim and Gerry do not have two-legged children, but currently have three 4-legged rescue kids. Kim works with two Oklahoma Pug Rescues as well as advocates for shelter animals. Kim and Gerry have rental property and spend a lot of their time remodeling homes, attending auctions and estate sales. Kim is also very involved in the care of her Godmother. Helping people and animals has been Kim’s life work.

Meet Emma Shandor, Supervisor of the PAT-Great Plains Program. Emma began her employment at Great Plains Youth and Family Services, Inc. (GPYFS) on August 2008 as a Family Support Worker, which later changed title to Parent Educator. Emma grew up in the nearby community of Roosevelt. She attended one of the last few classes to graduate from Roosevelt High School. Emma got her bachelor’s degree in Education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Emma has a strong passion for the most vulnerable beings on earth. She loves animals, children, and the elderly. Emma currently has a spicy little cat named Deffany. Emma adopted Deffany for her uniqueness. Deffany is a polydactyly cat. Emma says, “My 25 years of teaching Special Needs children comes in handy when dealing with Deffany. She has a unique personality.” She also has a wiener dog name Susic, who has a high spirted personality. Emma taught special education for 25 years. She not only taught in the state of Oklahoma, but also in the state of Michigan.” Emma was the primary caregiver for her mother who passed away in May 17, 2018. Outside of work, there was not a time or place that you did not see Emma without her mother. Emma has a lot of spike and it carries on to her daily job and home duties. Things get done! Fun Facts: Other then her love for animals, children, and the elderly, Emma loves to try different challenges. Emma loves the outdoors. She loves flowers and gardening, mowing with a pusher lawn mower, walking , and riding bikes with her best friend Phil. Emma likes to make things pretty. She loves crafts, painting, wood projects, making jewelry, and so much more! Emma loves food, much of what is not good for her, but the end of a hard week, Emma relaxes by making a good home cooked meal. Emma also loves country and western music. She says, “ George Straight has kept me awake during much of my travels!” Emma also loves movies. Comedy are her favorite. She says, “They make me laugh and I love to laugh!”

Misty George has lived in Southwest Oklahoma most of her life. She moved to Hobart in January of 2002. Misty has taught Mathematics for the past 33 years; 24 years at Hobart High School and 9 years at Western Oklahoma State College before retiring from education in May of 2023.
